LJ is the best way to go for these kinds of things. Myspace and Facebook are kinda bleh for fandom building.

Start a Bartiforums Nat/Bart comm on there. It's a good way to attract members.

I use the phone.

I don't like phones. I prefer talking in person or electronically, because I have an irrational fear of people overhearing phone conversations, tapping phone lines, hearing things not meant for them, etc. I just don't trust the things. :D

So, naturally, you ensure that whenever you talk to people over the internet both ends are using a secure proxy like Tor, you're using a secure chat service, and all your traffic is encrypted for good measure?

No. I'm just paranoid about phones. I couldn't care less about those things, let people read my conversations all they want.

Not at all, I just dislike sites like facebook in general.

Some would consider forums a type of social networking; only instead of talking to people you already know, you talk to complete strangers about a subject that you all know. I don't see how you can hate those social networking sites when you run this forum, and have joined a number of others, Gladstone.

Because I find that most of the sites are just self worship pages, I'm probably generalising to some degree...

Take one persons site, he's got a picture of himself topless, and all the comments are like:

"ohh, ur sexy"

I just can't understand it, it seems so superficial.
