Divergence trilogy

I have just finished reading the divergence trilogy.
First off, the atmosphere and situations remind me of the Hunger Games: both are in the future, both worlds are separated into groups with a special purpose, both are controlled by the government, both have kids fighting for survival, and both main characters are deeply involved in a rebellion.
The factions: The concept is very similar to the houses of Hogwarts, and serve a sole purpose, like the districts in the hunger games.
The plot: Was a mixture between hunger games and the truman show. It was pretty predictable at some points.
All in all, it was a nice read, but really nothing special.
By the way, I would be in Erudite.

In which faction would you be?

I haven't read it, but I find the comparisons to Quizilla pretty funny.
TBH this series confuses me. Everyone is grouped based on like, their personality or something and that's uber-evil? It just seems like a bit of a silly plot to me.

But I could probably just go and read the thing and stop whining. The idea of the Hunger Games crossed with (probably a prerequisite for young adult books right now) The Truman Show of all things does sound hella interesting.

There's a book about The Truman Show? I thought there was only the movie.

And Fuzzy, it's a bit like the houses at hogwarts: you go to wherever you are suited best. It's not evil, but prejudices tend to appear and stick to each faction. Like the thing with 'Slytherins are deatheaters wannabes'.

Go and read it and make your own opinion.

Sorry, I didn't mean that there was a book of the Truman show. There might be, but I don't know.

I wonder if from the Slytherin perspective they thought of Gryffindors as obnoxious jocks and hooligans, or if it was just a school wide consensus that "yeah, those are the evil kids"

Well, I think that the general school consensus is that gryffindors are dumb and loud, hufflepuffs are duffers, ravenclaws are bookends and slytherins are evil. But of course, that's just prejudice.

Erudite. I don't really like the series, though the first book's okay.

Dauntless and erudite sound like the two most populated factions.
