Character Deaths

Book Discussion
Hedwig's death upset me. So did Fred's.
Actually, everybody's did.

A fangirl's worst nightmare.

Nobody's death really touched me in this book, everybody was too minor.

Who would have touched you?

I cried on everyone but Mad Eye's so far through the reread....

I think that the reason they didn't touch us as much is because they happened in the middle of the book, instead of the end. Sirius was less major than Lupin in some ways, but I sobbed for at least twenty minutes when he died.

Bleh, very minor. I'd be sad for Fred, had we been able to see George's reaction. But the death scenes...idk just the way it was written. Oh, Bella's death did kind of upset me, but I saw it coming. At least she can rest in hell right alongside with Voldemort.

Ron or Hermione I would have been devastated. Or Harry at the discovery he was a Horcrux had he not taken his reaction to being one so slightly, or got to be alive. (If he sacrifices himself, let him be sacrificed dammit.)

Yes, I think that if George would have been mentioned a bit more then we'd be a lot more heartbroken. The deaths in this book to me seemed kind of...glazed over?

Yes, with any of the trio I would have cried and cried and cried.

What about Hagrid?

He isn't dead. Today, they have bunches of stuff for hair loss.

What are you talking about, exactly?

Kind of? They were completely glazed over...

Would you call Harry digging the grave for Dobby and the "funeral" completly glazed over?

And Moody's Eye reminded us he was dead...

The book was through Harry's eyes. It would be different if it was in George's point of view. And what do you first think when you see this?

Basketball :P

No, it does seem a little like Gred and Forge.

It seemed slightly like Fred and George, but only because I read about them before looking at the picture.

But that's the point. There was no one like Fred was for George that died for Harry in this book...

I was devastated over Fred. He was one of my favorite characters. And Snape...His sad love story...
Look, Queezle.

I cried for five minutes over Dobby. Tears welled in my eyes for Hedwig. I burst into tears as Harry walked into the forest.

But none of the main characters, the trio or Ginny, Luna, or Neville, were killed. It would have been more than devastating.

Some of the dead people were kinda important in the other books.

Yes, they were. And some of them were minor-major characters. But there were no major-major characters who died.

Whats with Molly vs. Bellatrix?
Stay-At-Home-Mom Vs. Escaped Mass Murderer.
Who do you pick? Not usually the latter.
But I really liked the book. So many deaths. o_o;
I thought that dragon would come back into the novel during the fight. The one they escaped from Gringotts on.

*grumble* It should have been Neville's revenge, not hers. Grr...one of the coolest characters in the book...killed by Molly.

Oh the rape.

Why would the dragon fight? He has no loyalties to anybody.

Yeah, I always thought that if anyone killed Bellatrix it would either be Harry, for Sirius (cries), or Neville for his parents. Molly was . . . a suprise. :hmm:
