Hi Mr Stroud
I was just wondering, if you did rewrite the series, is there anything you would change or write differently?

Hi Eternity,

Interesting question... I guess the answer has to be yes. Even without thinking about it too deeply, I know that there are lots of places where, when I reread it, I dislike something I wrote - often it'll just be a word or phrase that seems wrong to me, or a Bart joke that isn't as funny as I thought first time round. When I'm in the process of writing I'm rereading all the time, and part of the aim is to iron out all the wrinkles, remove all the slack bits, so hopefully most of what ends up on the page is at least close to my intention. But always there will be things that slip past unobserved.

On a bigger scale there may be some plot points that I would change if I had another go... but not too many of them. I knew where I was going with all three books right from the start, so most of the time I avoided going down narrative cul-de-sacs.

I think any author would agree that you can never get something absolutely perfect. You just do the best you can, then move on to the next challenge!
