Cell Phones

Now I don't have anything against cell phones, but even I will admit that this is getting ridiculous. Everybody I know has one. ARTEMIS has one. Why do we need a phone to carry with us for our whole life. Almost any building we go into will have one.

And I mean come on. I'm not some insane, phone companies will soon rule the earth because everyone needs to be in contact constantly, type of person. But how many ring tones do you really need? The computer teacher has a new one every day. Sad? I think so.

You forgot to point out that I didn't even particularly want one.

Dad was offered an extra because he's such a "good customer" and he gave it to me.

I have a PDA which just happens to have a phone in it. I barely use the phone. It's just useful occasionally for phoning home or whatever.

Athena's claim is that she doesn't like them and thinks that theyr'e stupid, the only reason for this is that everyone has one and it annoys her.

Yeah right, she did nothing but talk about them all night on Friday.

First of all Arti, yours has GPS so your dad can watch you all hours of the day.

I don't want one because my money could be much better spent and because Annoying Camp Girl #1 (you know who I'm talking about Arti) calls herself everyday just to hear her ring tone. Pathetic.

Also Abel you got to go to Italy?

Hah, if my parents tried to pull that, I'd find a way of altering it so it looked like I was on a flight to the US...

My ring tone is just part of my music collection, so I can listen to it whenever I want.
It's a good song, too.

I don't have one, and don't nescicarily want one. Unless it's a PDA. Those are awesome. Sentynel, your lucky.

You got to go to Italy for a school trip?! Lucky. My school doesn't have the budget to buy a single flight.

My school settles for stuff, you know, IN the country. I got to go to Quebec though. This year's Ottawa. I don't really care where I go as long as I get away from my parents for a week. Plus a hotel room, friends, and dvd player have thier advantages.

we all have to pay for it. school only pays for the pack breakfast for the first day. there are normally 2 overseas school trips in every school year, this time it has been italy and spain. last year was poland and germany

hehe :P the lacrosse team used to go on 'tour' to the US and Canada.
our physics teacher was forced to do a risk assesment for our trip to the faraday (sp?) lecture, you get to the place by going out of school, turning right, walking 50m, turning right again, walking 30m, turning left, walking 300m then you are there. there are 3 roads you need to cross, 2 of them in residential areas.

Cost me £220... Mind you, I use it LOADS.

The one I had before cost me £100. Pretty basic model. No phone or anything.

Well of course we have to PAY for it. The school can barely manage one dance a year, they can't afford to be sending children away for a week for free! It's roughly five hundred dollars per person. It's worth it though.

I agree with you, Athena. My best friend haas a phone too, and her parents won't let me help her program it (even though I know every last bit of those phones because my parents have em) because I lost a clip to her necklace a year ago. How damn prissy is that?

Fairly prissy. Artimes dad won't even let me touch hers because he thinks I'll break it.

Then again I probably would so there you go...
