LoL. Now's if it didn't have Stroud's name on it, I'd pass that for Crap.

PS it sounds pretty much like Kitty&Nathaniel without Bartimaeus and FOOTNOTES!

I checked it out on Amazon. It's apparently not 'up to scratch' with the Bartimaeus Trilogy, but I'll have my own opinion. I'll buy that and some Dean Koontz book my friend recommended in a bit and get you a long review on it.

Bartimaues is a work of art. Only His dark Matriels ( still don't like it, though) and Tolkien ofer any comparision.

While, Buried fire is a run of the mill Fantasy. You may like it; but it's nothing new. Of course I haven't actually read it.... but I have my sources.

To be honest it was better then the reviews gave it, if you want a nice read i say buy it.

There is no thin line between enjoyability and popularity with some stories. Different people have different tastes...but we all hate quiche.

Bartimaeus was unique; zero quiches.

Heeelllloooo? Harry Potter? The best selling fantasy book of all time? Wands and unicorns? Quiches? Ring a bell?

I can't remember any books offhand that have any quiches in.

Plenty of cliches in a lot of books, though.

Yeah, but Bartimaeus kept it to a minimum.

PS oh, and is Jonathan coming back?

Should be.

I don't stalk him though. That's Krim's job.
