I used wikipedia to complete my history essays last year.

Luckily, all the information was spot on.

where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."

As usual.

But make sure that it's all cited for....

Even though I still blindly trust it all. :D

In Inheritance, the scene opens with Princess Arya (Leia) taking Saphira’s egg (plans) to the Varden (rebels), when her caravan is taken by the Urgals (troopers). Arya sends the egg away to Carvahall (Dantooine), ostensibly to Brom (Obi-Wan), a fallen member of an ancient group of peacekeepers, who lives there. So, Saphira is sent to Carvahall and is incredibly valuable to both the Rebe—Varden and the Empire. It is only through sheer happenstance that Eragon happens upon her egg.

Eragon then travels to Helgrind (Alderaan) and picks up a friend on the way, Murt (Han).

In both, the mentor and ex-Rider/Jedi is killed defending their charge.

In both, once the main character joins the Rebellion/Varden, there is a battle and they are visted and told to go to visit Yoda/Oromis for true Jedi/Rider training. In both, the mentor is old/sick. The mentor trains them, but then the protagonist descovers his friends are in trouble and is forced to abandon his training. They leave, promising to return and complete training. I believe that oromis will die when Eragon returns for training.

Then they are confronted by a hitherto unknown family member, they lose their weapon and learn that the Emperor’s right-hand man was his father. The fact that Paolini switched “father” for “brother” seems rather irrelevant when you add the fact that while it isn’t uncommon in fantasy to have a protagonist of unknown heritage, it is definitely one of StarWars’ original twists was that the villain was the protagonist’s father.

Yes, once again, I totally agree with you, BTF. The plot of Eragon is remarkably similar to Star Wars. It's almost sickening, in fact.
Almost?

It disgusts me.

And hi, by the way.

Very clever Vinr. Very clever.

So all we need to do is follow the Return of the Jedi....

And the first bit that was released on Paolini's webpage does follow the beginning of Return of the Jedi...

Eragon and Saphira go to rescue Katrina ( in this case Solo) from the Ra'zac (Jabba) and end up getting in trouble. Then Eragon somehow kills the Ra'zac and rescues Katrina.

Eragon goes back to Oromis and finds he's dying, says he's finished his training blah blah blah....

The Varden decide to attack the Empire.... and all you need to do is follow this

And welcome Bucket. :welcome:

The Evil Emperor's original right hand man was Eragon's father; his new one is his brother. Hardly much of a difference.

Don't forget the Ancient, Powerful Weapon the Wise Mentor who turns out to be a member of the Ancient Peacekeeping Order gives to the Young Protagonist, who also turns out to possess the ability to control a Mystical Force.
Or that the Young Protagonist lives with his aunt and uncle, real parents unknown, and the aunt and uncle are subsequently murdered by the Evil Empire while the Young Protagonist is out and about to meet the Wise Mentor.
Or that the Evil Empire utterly wipes a fairly large settlement, which the Young Protagonist stumbles upon the remains of during his quest.
Don't forget the decisive role the Young Protagonist plays in the big battle after he joins the rebels, either.

And when Eragon (Luke) surrenders to Vader and the Emperor (Emperor [forget his name] and Murt) and defeats both of them in the same manner...
Ugh it's just so pathetic. :(

When did Luke come across that?
Alderraan?
Ah so what if it's like Star Wars.

Palpatine.

*does geek dance*

*literally. I have Stepmania, and a poorly written version of the Imperial March*
I wish I were a cat-dragon
Ah, so would Galbatorix be like Palpatine then? (the only Star Wars movie I clearly remember seeing was Episode II; barely remembered IV-VI at all)
