Katerine Patterson.

It's only fifteen minutes away.

We had to read it in 6th grade...It was a really good book back then...I'll have to reread it, and see if it still is. The movie also looks really good.

It's not like a lot of kids movies, it goes beyond the surface.

I reread Charlotte's Web today and it was simpler, though I still enjoyed it. I should probably reread Bridge too....

Ok, thanks, I will look for it

Geeze, I thought it was going to be like an hour or more away.. 15 mins isn't bad... Ours is about 30, but we go almost every two weekends.

We usually go to the movies, or rent them and pile onto the couch.

I hope you enjoy the book and movie, though I must warn you it's quite sad. I can't really say why without giving a lot away.

Thanks, sad books and movies are good though.. makes them more entertaining.

We like to pile on to the couch also.

Add depth to the story, doesn't it?

I hate cheap novels with no emotional conflict.

Well, I mean how Bartimaeus ended with Nat dieing, that is sad, but it was a major part of the trilogy.

Yes, but I didn't like that ending.

I got over, eventually.

If Bridge hadn't ended the way it had, I wonder what would have happened.

If I remember the ending right, I agree Ianna...I thought it ended well though.

I did too.

But it's like with Nat in the BT. We ask ourselves what would have happened had he lived? Would he and Kitty fall in love? Would he summon Bart for a chat?

Well, that's the part our imaginations fill in.

I watched it yesterday...

I don't know what to say after that movie... not what I was expecting, and I don't think I want to read the book now either. :hmm:

That's why it's so good, but so terribly sad.

Oh. I remember this book. Yeah, not a big fan of it, as it was a bit sappy, as Artemis puts it, and the ending was a bit pointless(though sad).
I don't like it enough to see the movie, though.

The ending actually had a point. It was based on a true story, the son of the author and his best friend. Who was a girl.

She died too.

Really? Isn't that something...never new that...you learn something new every day, I suppose, even online.

Yes, she was struck by lighting.

Of course you do.

That's life, even if it's virtual.

Bridge to Teribithia = One month of fourth grade torture.
There is a sort of busy worm,
That will the fairest book deform,
Their tasteless tooth will tear and taint
The poet, patiot,sage or saint,
Nor sparing wit nor learning.
Now, if you'd know the reason why,
The best of reasons I'll supply;
'Tis bread to this poor vermin.

We never had it for required reading, probably because in my part of America we're full of religious bigots.
