Aha.

He makes a point of mentioning how picking up the silver disk pained her. She is a spirit and a human in a sense, no?
That's an interesting concept, Kitty being a hybrid. I hope Jonathon Stroud builds on that in the new book. I am desperately hoping that Kitty and Bart will meet once more! I know Kitty promised Bart that she would never summon him again because of the pain and cruelty involved, and she would never go back on that promise (Just another reason to love and adore Kitty). But at the end of Ptolemy's Gate, Nathaniel tells Bartimaeus to "Say hello to Kitty for me." So I was expecting one last meeting between the two. :(

It does seem like one year is too much of a wait, so I'll have to occupy myself with more amazing books like Jon's. Feel free to throw me some suggestions!

Welcome Luxperpetua! Try Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy if you have not already tried it out. Amazing book.
Yeah, I too hope Kitty & Bart meet. Probably, someone else will summon Bart & he would sneak to meet Kitty.

I get the feeling the book is going to be a prequel to the Barti Trilogy.

How about Bartimaeus: The Plan, telling the story from Makepeace's perspective?

What if Bartimaeus tells the prequel from a sort of post trilogy perpective and he can sneak a few chapters in about Kitty.

Oh yeah, I actually almost forgot about that book! I've wanted to read The Hitchhiker's Guide for a while now. A friend suggested I read "Abarat" by Clive Barker, so I got that at the library yesterday. I'm only on chapter two, but it seems pretty interesting so far - It's got magic, scary storms, creepy boxes, haunted hotel rooms, and the like. :) I'll probably get Hitchhiker's after this.

That's what I was thinking, too! Bart could make a 'detour' while doing someone else's bidding and search for Kitty. :) By the way, does anyone know yet when the Bart graphic novel is supposed to be published?

What did she advertise?

Also, Abarat and Hitchhikers are pretty cool.

When we get a release date, could we get one of those fancy countdown thingers?

I've always wanted a prequel regarding Bart's life.

A prequel is what I was thinking too. Maybe He'll elaborate on his previous masters like Solomon. Or such. But Im thinking if it goes that way, it would most likely involve Ptolemy.

I'm so for a countdown!!

New journal page up - the first draft is due in February, and he's working hard. No further details at this time.

Sigh. I JUST checked his journal Sunday. This kind of thing is the real reason why people are "slow" on the updates.
Anyway this is epic that it'll be out in a year.
Yup. First draft in Feb means the book is likely to release in 2010. Summer or Christmas, I suppose.

ahem *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!*
Now, with that out of the way i'd like to say that I can't wait for a new barti book.
I think it should be about barti's past exploits like one section per notable master etc.
Oh my gosh i am soooooooooo excited :wow: :mouth: :wow: :mouth: :wow:
I think that is so great. I how that Kitty is in it because i like her with Bartimeaus.
I am so happy.
