Dear Gladstone,
Yep, the plan is still that there's going to be a film of The Amulet of Samarkand. People have been working on it for quite a while - I saw a (good) screenplay a couple of years ago, but things have been a bit quiet recently. But I'm hopeful that the process will get moving again soon. I'll fill you in if there's any concrete news.

Last I heard, it is dormant right now. The producer of the trilogy had died.
If they do proceed ( ever) I hope they have Simon Jones do the voice of bartimaeus. He did it so well in the audio books.

I just hope it gets done, in the range of 2013-2020. I'm willing to wait another nine years, just get it DONE!

I totally agree with you two. But I hope it wouldn't take that long..
