Bartimaeus is Nathaniel

Time and space mean nothing in the The Other Place.

What might be interesting is if Bartimaeus is actually the spirit of Nathaniel. Think about the 3 books. Stroud makes a point of how Nathaniel is cold and calculating and without spirit. Then at the end of the book Bartimaeus is fused with Nathaniel. Their bond is uniquely harmonious compared to the other hybrids (partly because Barti doesn't take over Nat's brain). Metaphorically speaking, Nathaniel regains his soul or "spirit" when Barti joins him at the end...

What if because they were one, when Nathaniel died his spirt went with Bartimeaus because Bartimeaus knew his birth-name :P

The reason Bart and Nat worked so well together was because they knew each other's birth name.

Note: Bartimaeus was not "born' and therefore does not have a "birth name"

Don't worry, I don't think JS would bring back Nat. He is dead. And CP wouldn't ever be allowed to touch Bartimaeus.
