We've been having a random Ayreon session in IRC, as you do, Ayreon being a music project that does sci fi rock operas. It is therefore awesome by default.
Some good songs:
River of Time
Ride the Comet (even DC likes these two, and he's a very picky git)
Newborn Race (DC kinda likes this one, especially the guitar solo)
Age of Shadows/We Are Forever (DC doesn't like this one, except for the bit where one character is singing in binary, but Nero and I do..)

Who are Ayreon? Well, the bloke in this picture writes all the music, and then hires guest musicians (there are 16 guest vocalists and 9 guest instrumentalists on this album alone, plus the composer). The girls are three of the guest vocalists.

Yes, yes it is. Ayreon is bloody awesome. This album's 01011001, but he's done several, and they're all brilliant (and all but one tie into the overall storyline).
