Animation films?

General Chat
Hi! What is/are your favorite animation films? I know it's a little bit childish, but I absolutely love animation films. My favorites, among others, are Hayao Miyazaki's works: Princess Mononoke, Spirited away, and Howl's moving castle. ( :good: )
Any recommended titles? :D
^aw yeah, all those are excellent. Also My Neighbour Totoro.

do you like 3D-style animation a la Pixar and Dreamworks? what about classic Disney?
ALSO AKIRA.
I wish I were a cat-dragon
Yes I totally rock Pixar movies! I love all of them, especially Up and Toy Story! And also Wall E.. Megamind is one of my favorites too, although I haven't watched much of Dreamworks films.. But I soon will! Disney, the latest that I've seen is Tangled.. I'm planning to watch the Princess and the Frog, too, when I have time.. Thank you for those titles, I'll watch them ASAP! :thnks:
I'm currently taking an animation course right now, so I've been watching a lot of animated movies lately. :D Which is always fine by me.

Oh Akira. I saw the last ten mintues of that once, really need to see the rest because what I saw made absolutely no sense whatsoever. :D Keep hearing about the live action remake though, sounds like a real trainwreck. Also getting friends to lend me more Miyazaki when I get the chance.

Megamind! I love that movie so much.

As for recommendations, I don't know exactly what to tell you because I don't know what you have an haven't seen. But some good (recent) ones are: Rango, The Triplets of Beliville, How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, The Princess and the Frog (which you've already mentioned :P ) and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Also, this short film , which is just beautiful (the same guy did a google doodle a while back).

Despicable Me!
(and I can't wait for the sequel!)
I wish I were a cat-dragon
I didn't find Despicable Me very great. How to Train Your Dragon was better.
There are the only two recent ones I saw.

Wow, do you also make animation films yourselves in that subject? Or do you just watch and analyze them? Either way, that sounds pretty exciting! I wish my curriculum's as exciting as yours. But no, I'm stuck with math and physics. :-/

I'll also go download Akira. Sounds pretty good. Is it also Miyazaki's work? I love his films. Really awesome effects. Especially the night walker in Princess Mononoke.. Really cool!

Megamind's totally awesome! I simply adore the character. Watched it about four times already, and I can't still get over it. :good:

I've already downloaded Rango and how to train your dragon, but I haven't watched it yet, maybe this weekend. :D I've already watched cloudy with the chance of meatballs (that title's really a mouthful) and it's amazing! I want a spaghetti tornadoooo.. :gladstone:

:wow: That short film's awesome! I love the song.. Your right, it's beautiful..

Thank you for your suggestions! And please fill me up if you find other awesome animation films in your class! :thnks:

Yes, I think it's good, but not that great.. Although Agnes is really cute! Never encountered a kid who doesn't run from such a ferocious dog like that.. IF that's a dog, that is. Seems like a mutated boar to me.. :lol2:
I heard Pixar's working on Monsters inc. 2 and the Incredibles 2.. Can't wait to see them! I hope they'll release it this year or early next year. I just watched the Incredibles yesterday. I know, it's been released ages ago.. I've got some serious catching up to do when it comes to movies.. That's why I'm doing a movie marathon! All animation films!

^That too.

Oh, I didn't know they were making an Incredibles sequel. Cool.

Yeah, I just heard it from a classmate of mine. Said he saw it posted in IMDB. :D I never thought they're planning to make a sequel for Despicable me.. Seems like close matters to me.. The Incredibles seems more likely to have a sequel, given the ending (although I'm not sure the story will pick on from that scene)
I don't think that they'll continue off from that ending, yeah, because I seem to remember there being a videogame about it...

So it turns out that my animation teacher has an unfinished cut of Beauty and the Beast (part of the film is just the rough animation and storyboards). It was fantastic, and I'm now feeling really insecure about my drawing skills. :P
