Amulet of Samarkand movie?

General Discussion

According to Wikipedia: 'Details about a film adaptation of The Amulet of Samarkand have been released. Miramax will finance the film, with John Madden directing and a screenplay by Hossein Amini.'

Yeah, I've been hearing about that too. Exciting, but I'm not sure why it hasn't gone fully public yet. It's probably not done, but I can live off of rumors.

I keep hearing it's release date was in 2009.

WHAT! That is just not done! They do not release movies without letting the public (or at least the fans) know about it!
Well, that's what I think. i mean, I don't know for sure, but if the movie was released two years ago, there ought to be at least some publicity.

P.S: Did you get that fact from Wikipedia?
Olivia Mite
I know right!Can't remember now.

Nope, I checked Wikipedia, and they don't have a release date. Wikipedia (almost) never lies.
Well, I guess we'll have to watch and wait then. When it does come out, I'm getting a ticket, no doubt about it.

Oh, i just realized this had been discussed before. here's the link: http://bartiforums.com/topic/2206/1/
There, I knew this topic sounded familiar!

Oh oops, sorry I'm new to this site I just made an account to ask this. I would love to see a movie on it, i'm in love with the books

Everyone's in love with the books. That's why you should post things other than just this question!!!
The movies these days aren't that great. Especially ones from the books. Example: Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief. The book was great but the movie sucked. I hope it's not the same for the books, if there really is a movie coming out...

Let us hope that, if a film adaptation does ever occur, that it is as well adapted as The Hunger Games was.
I was looking online and I found a decription that made me a little angry. I just reread the book and am starting Golem's eye. Here's the link:

And this is probably where the "2009" rumor came about. Sorry for the random post, but didn't know this site existed until I actually looked for this topic. So, yeah... xD

Hello and welcome!

I find it wasn't really that great. There was an opportunity to make some aspects better. Instead some parts like the ending, scenes with Rue, anything with Peeta, and just the overall themes were made worse.

But I suppose there could be worse (eg. Percy Jackson). So Hunger Games level wouldn't be too bad.
it should be Lord of the Rings level!

I would love it if the books made it to the big screen, but I don't think that the movie Bart would be able to match the Bart in our minds.

I think it would be nice if the Japanese took it over and made it an anime movie.

Or better yet, a series. xD
