Hello! :)
This question is targeted at Mr. Stroud, but if anyone else has an answer that would be awesome!
First off, I have to say that I absolutely adore your Bart series. The ending of the last book was heartbreaking and frustrating because I was starting to really like Nat again ( I liked him in the first book), but I think that with a different ending the books wouldn't have been so memorable. Congrats on making a heart-wrenching finale! It was very masterfully done. Although, it was rather painful to have him die right when the romance between him and Kitty was starting :$
Still, my question relates to the ending. I read that you wrote in a response to another question that Nat died...
But, every time I consider the ending of the books, I cannot help but wonder, could Nat's "essence" have been transported along with Bart's into the Other Place? At the end of the books, they are sharing the same body. They are the same thing; they can read each other's thoughts and access each other's memories. Therefore, wouldn't it be possible for Nat to be pulled along to the Other Place with Bart? If humans can go to the Other Place willingly, couldn't they also go unwillingly? Like how Spirits can be summoned unwillingly to Earth from the Other Place? In order to go there you need a spirit to guide you right? Well, Bart might unknowingly guide Nathaniel's spirit along with him.
So? My question is: Do you, as the author, think it might be possible for such a thing to happen?
Anyways, thanks for writing such incredible novels. You're awesome Mr. Stroud! :)
