Admired Mr. Stroud:
First, sorry for my english, is horrible ... T_T I'm Spanish.
I'm crazy about your books. I admire you very much.
My favorite character is Nathaniel / John Mandrake (the mixture of his good qualities and huge mistakes makes a very complex character, and really fun to read), and my favorite volume of the trilogy is "The Golem's Eye".
I also love Kitty Jones, of course. It's one of the few heroines of young adult books that I like really much. The vast majority of the other heroines are like a compendium of clichés, and quite ridiculous. But Kitty is special, has all the character and charisma that is lacking in others.
Regarding Bartimaeus ... Undoubtedly, wonderful. It's a far more character intricate than it may seem at first glance, as demonstrated in "Ptolemy's Gate."
Have you based a bit in "Paradise Lost"?. Because sometimes Bartimaeus is more like a demon of the concepts of Christian Demonology, that a Djinn. Well, really, considering that most reference books using the wizards along the book are the type of "Lemegeton" etc. ...
At times,"Paradise Lost" tells about the essence of the spirits (in this case, angels), etc ... And I thought maybe you thought a little on the work of John Milton for some concepts from the world of Bartimaeus.
Also, Bartimaeus reminds me of Asmodeus of Judeo-Christian tradition. Asmodeus was Solomon's servant, and his cunning, wit, and energy, caught the King. Also, of course, Asmodeus was cruel and perverse. It's a demon, after all.
So, looks Bartimaeus resembles Asmodeus in some ways. Even in his small preference for beautiful women (Nefertiti, Asmira, Kitty ...), who shares with Asmodeus.

Well, I would like to ask:

1) We all know that the relationship between Bart and Ptolemy is very special, very deep. So much so, that reminds me a lot these platonic love for which Plato meant... in the style of those old romances of chivalry, and Dante and Beatrice in "The Divine Comedy"...
Is it really so?. In some ways, could be said that Bartimaeus is in love with Ptolemy?. Platonic or not. The way that Bart worships Ptolemy, almost idolizes... It seems a passionate love. A love of the soul.
What kind of love feels Bartimaeus for Ptolemy?.

2) Why Bartimaeus kisses Kitty in the front in PG?

3) If John Mandrake takes an apprentice, it would be a good master, or be grumpy and unfriendly as Underwood?.

4) There's Ptolemy's mummy?. No one has ever found the mummy of Ptolemy?. Bart would be happy if I could see, at least once, the Ptolemy's mummy?.

5) You said that the relationship between Ptolemy and Bart is "idealized". What do you think, then, about this relationship?.

Bartimaeus and Ptolemy fascinate me. Together, they are the key of the trilogy. The whole story in the London of Nathaniel and Kitty is conditioned by the past of Bart with Ptolemy. Ptolemy is the invisible presence, but totally remarkable, throbbing in the trilogy.

And please, please, please >////<... It would be so wonderful that you see my video tribute to the Bartimaeus Trilogy!!!. With the Main Theme of the movie "The Mummy"... My youtube video.
The characters who appear in the video are Bartimaeus, Nathaniel/John Mandrake, Kitty Jones, Ptolemy, Faquarl, Jabor, Queezle, Jakob, and Ascobol. It's for you, thank you for you attention. n_____n
