I've only heard that it smells disgusting, but not as bad as cigarette smoke. Cigarettes do smell disgusting. And taste disgusting. And has a lot of additives. Cannibis, is all natural :D. Unless you're considering growing it yourself, which I wouldn't recommend. Plus faster growth = more money, so you can bet it'll be laced with pesticides.
