I have the Spanish version of the books. And there is a paragraph I love in GE. It's in the beginning of chapter 33, page 385 in the Spanish version, Barti's POV. In Spanish, it would be this:

Quote:

-Ejem- la serpiente de plumas plateadas carraspeó con educación-. E-jem - Nada. Ni caso. Habrase visto qué maleducado... Llamar a alguien y luego ni mirarlo. Tosí un poco más alto- E-thaniel.

Could you translate it for me?
Pwease! Pwease!

Not a translation exactly, but I put into a Spanish/English translator to get the general idea and then looked it up in my copy. It's on 387 there. :D

"Ahem." The serpent of silver plumes gave a polite cough. "A-hem." Still no response. How impolite was this? You call someone up, then take them for granted. I coughed a little louder. "A-thaniel."

That what you were looking for?

It's okay. The verbs are kind of difficult, but it's not bad.
English it's much funnier and useful.

Spanish is by far the easiest 2nd language to learn (not counting English). It just takes time.

Spanish is very useful if you live in the U.S. with all the mexican culture seeping in. (Kinda)
Conjugations and verbs are fun a-chan!

I know Spanish-ish. It was my first language. So I learned conversational, mexican spanish. Which can vary a bit from Spanish you learn in school. I would agree in Spanish being the best language to learn if living in the United States.
