Gladstone reset the maximum online users count on December 20th. It goes up as and when we happen to get hit by a fleet of web crawlers, I suspect. It's not showing up in our stats monitor, which suggests it's something that doesn't run JavaScript, which means either 40 of me connected that morning, or it was crawlers. That many disparate IP addresses would imply one of the big ones, and it sure wasn't Bing because their cached version is from the 18th. Google's the most likely candidate, but if so they've been past again since because the cache is more recent. |
