That's beautiful. If this is well done, it could increase the popularity of the series enough that the movie/s is/are made.

Also, I wish his journal had an RSS feed.

Putting a fair bit of faith in Mr Sullivan there, JS. Relax, DC, it could be alright. Anyone know about a release date for this?

No, it was supposed to be 2011(if I remember rightly), but I am not sure.

1. Queezle - Her name doesn't come from anywhere, I don't think. I just made it up! It was kind of meant to make her sound nice. I feel a bit sorry that I killed her off so fast; she is an interesting character.

He also mentions he's working on a new book...

This pretty cool. But I sincerely hope a movie is not made.

Presumably, he's still at work on the "encyclopedia?"

I don't think we are getting that anytime soon. Did he even start work on it or did he just consider writing it?

At the least it will give me something of Bartimaeus to read. I hope JS writes some of it so that there will be things that weren't in the book written by him instead of Sullivan.

I think he briefly mentioned it in one of the Answered Questions.

Encyclopedia: YES.

Movie: Probably going to disappoint fans no matter what they do, but it'd be nice to see them try.

Graphic novel . . . not so sure if they can convert bartimaeus to a graphic novel character, we'd lose the footnotes and most of the jokes. Could hopefully be allright.

Something is better than nothing. And graphic novels could get many interested in the story. Many look at the fine print of the BT books & run away.

Running away from the footnotes? Heh, when I picked up the book, I looked at the footnotes and went, "Interesting, never seen footnotes in a children's book before..." and then I started to laugh. Quite loudly.

As for graphic novels, well...for some stories it is the perfect medium, as the book format was the perfect medium for the Bartimaeus Trilogy. However, while we may lose many of the better jokes, we may gain a new dimension of atmosphere and character. Sullivan is a very good artist.

All the same, it boils down to how they deal with the story...hopefully Mr. Stroud does have a hand in the scripts and such for it.

The graphic novel is just to attract more readers. I think all those who have read the books, would prefer them. Ditto with the movie.
