Solomon...
Sounds nice, but little to work with, from Bart's accounts.

Welcome skippy888. I can't guess the name of the 4th book till I think of a story for it.
Jonathan Stroud

1. Queezle - Her name doesn't come from anywhere, I don't think. I just made it up! It was kind of meant to make her sound nice. I feel a bit sorry that I killed her off so fast; she is an interesting character.

Bart worked for King Solomon, the distruction of the First Temple came about when the city "was captured by the Babylonians in 586 BCE and, at the order of King Nebuchadnezzar II, the city was torched, the Temple razed". I'm not religious at all, but it has a lot of materia...... give JS some names ...would it not be cool if in a few years the 4th book was realeased with a similar title that you predicted!

Hmm. I'm surprised nobody's thought of the 'ol time travel plot. Bart gets to see Ptolemy, etc.

Actually, I'm useless when it comes to title-guessing. I used to prepare list of titles for many soon-to-be-released books (with my sis & friends). Not even one has come remotely close.

Haahhha oooohhhhhh ahhhhh, So there is to be a 4th book! and I could still be right with my prediction! The Temple of Solomon - I wasn't thinking time travel. He will work it out. I just can't see the main characters not being in the 4th book. I demand he puts in Nat, Bart and the Stool, ohhh and the gurl also! :)

P.S. I reserve the right to say 'I told you so' :)

How much can we trust this to be the correct title?

Pretty much as the audio books are releasing in that name.

I'm pretty convinced - this page on amazon.com has a description:
"Bartimaeus, everyone's favorite (wise-cracking) djinni, is back in book four of this best-selling series. As alluded to in the footnotes throughout the series, Bartimaeus has served hundreds of magicians during his 5,010 year career. Now, for the first time, fans will go back in time with the djinni, to Jerusalem and the court of King Solomon in 950s BC. Only in this adventure, it seems the great Bartimaeus has finally met his match. He'll have to contend with an unpleasant master and his sinister servant, and runs into just a "spot" of trouble with King Solomon's magic ring.."

The Ring of Solomon . . . hmm. I wonder what it could be about. Reading through the books again, I found this bit:

(In GE Bart is talking about some of the charges he's been given in the past, and the dodgy things he's been made to do)
"Then there was that uncomfortable business of Solomon's magic ring, which one of his rivals charged me to pinch and chuck into the sea. I needed some fast talking on that occasion, I can tell you."

Could this be in the new book? Earlier on in the books (can't remember where) Bart has definately mentioned Solomon's ring, and how he could summon a whole bunch of lesser spirits just by twisting it - or something along those lines. Anyway, looking forward to the new book.
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

Something symbolic in that. It's what fake freedom does for you.
