Mercenary: Possible Book Error

Ok, think I may have found a sure error this time.

When Nat and Bart are breaking into Lovelace's conference, they are driving a car (Bart driving) up to the gate when the mercenary comes to check them out.
He's supposed to be very alert and aware of any attempts to sneak in, as it's high security; ok? He comes to talk to Bart, and after numerous questions it's only because of good disguises and Nathaniel's memory that they get in.

In book 3, the Mercenary tells Nathaniel that he sees all the 7 planes. If you don't trust me look it up yourself, I'll give you the page number.

So, If the Mercenary was so alert, why did he not see what Squalls and Son really were?

You've all managed to talk your way out of my other book error theories, try this one! And don't say the Mercenary was just too lazy to check the planes. It was of the first importance that no intruders got in; he would have checked the planes.
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

Something symbolic in that. It's what fake freedom does for you.

Purple looks good too, but I prefer orange.
Umbreo its not that easy to find an error in the books. Plus even if you find one, chances are that they were already discovered. 3 books & scores of fanatical members. What do you expect? Anyway, you are doing a great job combing through the books. You are sure to find something we have missed.

I find it hard to do actions here without words...

And Orange hurts me eyes. And it's less cool. =D
