Just like I'll never get why Bush loves invasions

But back to the book discussion...

Personally, I think both went too far.

The whole point is that Rowling is coming out with her own encyclopedia at a later date. She shouldn't have to compete with someone else over this. It's not fair to her as an author.

And I have little sympathy for the Rowling bashers, as she's possibly one of the most fan-friendly authors there is.

*Shrug* Rowling's encyclopedia would own anything SVA comes up with. She would have much more insightful (and accurate) information. And fans would have liked hers a lot better anyway. (Not to mention there'd be way more media coverage--she could probably write a phonebook and get millions of copies sold.)

And her encyclopedia would probably get done a whole lot faster if she spent less time with her lawyer.

^Ain't that the truth!

I used to think she was too much of an ice queen, then I saw the documentary "A day in the life of JK Rowling" and it changed my view of her forever. <3
Nothing to see here, move along.

I personally loved DH.

Her plot drags on so tediously at times, to an extent that would rival the prose of Northrop Frye even.

And she's predictable.

Well in her defense, the books were destined to be predictable. Her fans have over analyzed the hell out of it and stuffed every imaginable outcome in their fanfics.

Meh...even people who hadn't read fanfiction could see it coming a mile away.

It was cliche, totally embedded in pop culture. But I suppose since her audience's ages are so varied, there's no way she could keep everyone entertained.
