And when Eragon (Luke) surrenders to Vader and the Emperor (Emperor [forget his name] and Murt) and defeats both of them in the same manner...

Then they are confronted by a hitherto unknown family member, they lose their weapon and learn that the Emperor’s right-hand man was his father. The fact that Paolini switched “father” for “brother” seems rather irrelevant when you add the fact that while it isn’t uncommon in fantasy to have a protagonist of unknown heritage, it is definitely one of StarWars’ original twists was that the villain was the protagonist’s father.
The Evil Emperor's original right hand man was Eragon's father; his new one is his brother. Hardly much of a difference.

Don't forget the Ancient, Powerful Weapon the Wise Mentor who turns out to be a member of the Ancient Peacekeeping Order gives to the Young Protagonist, who also turns out to possess the ability to control a Mystical Force.
Or that the Young Protagonist lives with his aunt and uncle, real parents unknown, and the aunt and uncle are subsequently murdered by the Evil Empire while the Young Protagonist is out and about to meet the Wise Mentor.
Or that the Evil Empire utterly wipes a fairly large settlement, which the Young Protagonist stumbles upon the remains of during his quest.
Don't forget the decisive role the Young Protagonist plays in the big battle after he joins the rebels, either.
When did Luke come across that?

Ah, so would Galbatorix be like Palpatine then? (the only Star Wars movie I clearly remember seeing was Episode II; barely remembered IV-VI at all)

I don't know!!! All I know is, for some odd reason, I clearly remember seeing Episode II on TV, and every time the original episodes appeared on TV, I would end up missing the first half of the movie and I would get confused on what happened so far. Also, the last time I saw any of the original ones was like years ago, and I only saw parts of it. :gladstone:
