Ok.
How well do you think Bartimaeus did against the Assyrians in the Egyptian Wars way back when?
i.e. do you believe the descriptions of carnage?

"Smoking kills. If you die, you lose a very important part of your life." - Brooke Shields

"The Earth is the center of the universe." - Ptolemy

"Nothing important happened today." King George's journal on the 4th July, 1776.

"Well, try giving yourself a rude gesture. It just doesn't work, does it?" Bartimaeus, final footnote of his trilogy.

"Recipe for success:
1.Toss rock behind utukku.
2.Attack (i think) as utukku spins, eyes wide.
3.Gloat to taste.
Oddly enough, this made me a few enemies among the surviving uttukku."

Mmmhmm

I always belived most of what Bartimaeus said, although for most of it I belived he was probably exagerating it by alot. Also, I kinda viewed it as the older Bartimaeus gets, the more powerfull he gets. I mean, I really don't think he gets physiclay weaker, and besides, he has more expirence to fall back on as he gets older.

I'd say a little more clever than he was, but really, I think his power hasn't changed.

Look at AoS, he was perfectly powerful there. The little shield he had on saved him from one of Jabor's Detonations, and the shield he through on the door held Jabor while he and Faquarl held their little conversation.

Golem's Eye was no different, though his attitude had (amazingly) gotten a little worse towards Mandrake. Hardly surprising there.

PG had him weak, but because of time served in this world, not due to his age.

I've seen no evidence of him being weaker than he once was, only evidence that Nat was the reason.
