All of Bartimaeus's sayings on how he killed the Djinn, and did all those other things are very much true. I think if he was lying that Ptolomey would have been able to get it out of him. But I think that it would tear Bartimaeus up inside if he was constantly lying to Ptolomey. He wopuld have been lying to a very much loved friend. Bartimaeus just couldn't lie. |

Anakin Skywalker Attachment is forbidden. Possession is forbidden. Compassion -- which I would define as…unconditional love -- is essential to a Jedi's life. So, you might say that we are encouraged to love. Qui-Gon Jinn The ability to speak doesn't make you intelligent.

I am a little reluctant to assume they are all true, since I'm sure you are all aware of Bart's love of boasting and bragging... |

Yes. But he certainly lost some of that amazing power over his summons... |

Sure he's just not had the chance to use it? Not counting PG, cuz of his weak state, when did he get a good fight going? Against Verroq, yes, but that's the Mercenary, and doesn't count. He doesn't get the chance to do what he used to do anymore, so we don't see as much of him. |

Yes. I never considered that. Except when his breaks weren't taken when he was weakened in PG. |

Well said, I hadn't thought of that. The things he said he did happened primarily when Ptolemy sent him on his way with the Egyptian army, when they were close friends.
Huh? |

Yes, I think that war when Ptolemy sent him was his finest hour. Unless it was the ending of PG. I had meant...Nvm. <_< |

More than his power, it was his brains which helped him. There are so many examples from the books. |

"If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live. No more bees, no more pollination ... no more men!" - Einstein "I like quoting Einstein. Know why? Because nobody dares contradict you." - Studs Terkel. <@Ximenez> Sentynel: But i have a life? No. Qed.

Definetly. Muscles are nothing without a brain and quick wits to back them up. |

You've heard "All brawl and no brains" Well, Bart is that. Not HOLEY MOLEY potent that he has no sense, but a good balance. |

Mmhmm. Balance is good. "He who stands like a pillar in battle falls. He who bends like a reed is triumphant!" He's a great fighter too. |

I believe all what he says about himself is TECHNICALLY true, but not necessarily accurate. For example, I believe that after the third book he would gladly say that he defeated Lord Nouda. He wouldn't say, though, that at the time he did so he was in the body of a magician using 7 league boots and the Gladstone's staff, that the magician in question died in the process or that he was saved by a human just before Nouda actually died. |
