He is an amazing individual who did not deserve to die.

An amazing individual? For reals? Now, I give him props for rebelling against Umbridge, but I think 'amazing' is just exaggerated. He's just a minor, fictional character.

That because JKR wrote the cr-epilogue way back when she started. She locked it in a drawer only to open it just as she was finishing DH. Laziness and brilliance all in one?
Nothing to see here, move along.

You people insist because all the characters who died are 'minor' they don't matter. I prefer the minor characters to the major ones. Hell, that's why I read the books! Ron, Harry and Hermione are interesting enough. But her true writing skills come out in her other characters.

I like the majors and minors. But Fred was hilarious and really nice. I had a major book crush on him.
Look, Queezle.

I have an incredible amount of book crushes.
In fact, generally when I read a fiction book, I have a book crush on one of the guys in it.
Um... is that bad?
Look, Queezle.

Depends. You do get crushes on real guys right? :) It's okay as long as you don't take it too seriously. There are some pretty obessed people out there. But as its Fred, its understandable.

She killed in quantity but the characters killed weren't *that* major.

Sure there were deaths, but that's kind of expected. Personally, I think the bloodbath hype is way too much. Isn't the happily-ever-after ending good enough for y'all?

Ya I agree with u. Harry deserves a happy life after all his sufferings - & what he got in the end was just a normal life like v all usually lead. What is so sugar sweet about the epilogue? JK herself has said a lightining cannot strike the same tree twice so v can't expect Harry to lead a dangerous & troubled life again. It would seem too fairytale - like to bestow another adventure on Harry & co. Harry deserves a happy, peaceful & normal life. So what is so hateful about the editorial? IF Harry & co did'nt enjoy their life, what was the use of Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Dobby etc etc to die? Their death atleast has ensured a bright life for the survivers. What v learn from the epilogue is to move on, irrespective of what took place in the past. If Harry still mourned & lead a depressed life, the deaths of his friends would have been in vain. They died to reconstruct a better world - & their last wish luckily, got fulfilled.

So please don't go on about the epilogue, it was the best ending Jo could give 2 her series. I suppose v got 2 used 2 dark & dangerous things in DH that the epilogue seemed out of place. Try reading book 1 again - it suddenly seems so childish. The same applies 2 book 6, where v see Harry worried about Quidditch & homework & stuff. Book 7 is way 2 darker!

I also suggest ( to people who r still convinced the epilogue is crap) to read the Mugglenet Editorial " All is well".

Uhhhh...I feel kind of bad having to say it, but I loathed the epilogue and find the only thing 'well' about the epilogue is AS/S.

It was sarcasm on my part.

It didn't bother me so much that the epiloge told you nothing, but that JK herself told you nothing. All she said in that interview was stuff I already knew. (And rather lame stuff it is. Ron an auror? Luna growing up? Give me a break.)

This is one serious doubt I have got. What did Ron actually become? In a interview Jo said he became an Auror & helped George to restart the joke shop (or something along that line). But in the web chat ( available at Bloomsbury. com) she said he worked in the joke shop with George & it bacame a real money spinner. She said nothing about him being an auror! I am really confused & I want Ron 2 be the former. There is a possibility he might be working in both places but that seems improbable. Please answer.

 JK is changing her mind left right and center. In the interview that started this topic she said Ron and Harry became aurors.

I think that we can safely assume that Ron quit Weasley's Wizard Weases and then became an auror afterwards.

Unfortunately, I have to say that I agree with this. Fred was comic relief and he was a great character, but he isn't the greatest tragedy.

Not insane per se. It takes more than book crushes to be insane.
