But if she hadn't grown up by 17, there can't be much hope for future maturity... |

Then Ginny is forever stuck in the world of evil Sues. |

I didn't mind the epilogue. It wasn't the best, but it was alright. And don't forget, pretty much everyone in the previous ministry was killed, so it can't have been too hard to "revolutionize" it. I can imagine Luna as one of those Hippy Ladies who lives in a tree and walks around barefoot, humming. |

I always thought she'd grow up and be either a comedian or a children's novelist for the Muggle World. And the entire time, she'd be entirely serious, and completely surprised that people think she's joking. |

I like your alternative quite a lot. Reminds me of the ending of Elf. |

There's your fantasies down the drain. No crumple-horned snorcack love for you. What surprised me about this book was how much JKR relied on real events in history to support her own story. Thinking like that, it's no surprise she'd say they've revolutionized the MOM.... think about Germany after WW2, or Russia after the revolution... Big wars can create big changes, because what war does to the people has a huge impact on society. After all, people change society, right? Or something. I've never taken history, so I'm a bit out of my area here. I find it amusing how much Jo indulged the fanfiction fans in her epilogue... the possibilities for fanfics about the children are now -endless-, and the playroom is MORE than what they had before. Amirite? |

Grindenwald stank of WWII Nazism and a dash of Soviet. Meh, the Magic is Might thigie and the general athmosphere is a bit 1930s Germany. She indulged it too much. Someone always seem to be flaming someone else in the Potter section of FF.net |

I never thought of it like that: good point. And she gave the shippers new life. Ugh. |

Well, at least you can still have the Nargel moments from the books. |

Last I remember, FF.net removed the "and free your soul part." Meh, my personal fav is "unleash your imagination and free your Sue." |

Basically a character (usually female) who are portrayed in an overly idealized way and lack...well...dimension. Take for example, Ginny. She's SO beautiful, irresistably 'feisty' (in other words, she's a total bitch but everyone loves her regardless, the main important guy falls in love with her (usually whom the author admires, in this case HP), and just generally a type of character you should avoid when writing stories. Better definition here. |
