Very nice. Though I've never heard of that cartoon before...

Awwh, I gotta love Alex.
It's found daily in the Business section of the Telegraph.

Which explains a lot I suppose.

I'm sick of the Golden Compass commercials. They're driving me crazy....they could at least get some new ones.

Are the CGI polar bears really annoying during the movie?

They kinda pissed me off on the posters.

I hope the christmas Alex cartoons this year are as good as they were last year (I think it was last year, anyway) when he went to Narnia...

This is a little off-topic, but of those of us in England/UK, will anyone be watching The Shadow of the North, on Sunday? I plan to. I saw The Ruby in the Smoke last year, and I must say, they did it really well.

I loved them. They were completely original, the characters inspired and the book was written beautifully. Pullman is an amazing author.

I read in the newspaper, it follows the lines of HP............
"If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live. No more bees, no more pollination ... no more men!" - Einstein
"I like quoting Einstein. Know why? Because nobody dares contradict you." - Studs Terkel.

^Quite. HP and Northern Lights is quite an unfair comparison. HDM is far better than anything in HP. In HDM, everything is suggested to be science, whereas HP takes theoretical science ideas, and uses magic. Also HP has so little basis in logic, that characters like Harry and Ron, who are that little bit thick, can get places by luck. HDM explains the reasons for their actions in far more logical terms. HDM all the way.

Yes, much better, but less fun to read. Mostly the last was the most boring one, the writing didn't have the heart that was there in the other two books.

I'd say that the first DM book was way better than all the HP books. (I might not like it better, just in neutral judgement.)

The second one was better than some of the HP books, worse than others but still a really good read.

And the third one, well let's just say it ranks on my most hated books list because it was, in my opinion, poorly written and carried out. And since it was the end, kind of ruined the series.

By the way, the movie would have been better if they had kept the original end from the books.

I was disappointed by the last DM book as well.....But I also thought that ''The Deathly Hallows'' was very poorly written.....Both books felt rushed and kind of ruined the series.... ^o)

It seems a lot of last books are like that.

But I really liked Deathly Hallows.
