I agree with Mwamaba on this.

So what if she's pretty and smart? Sure, they can be good qualities, but mean nothing when the person is an.....evil, stuck-up slut/user.

Name five times she was nice to someone....when it didn't get her anything.

Ginny's cool.

I would say the ending of HBP and when she admitted that she never actually gave up on Harry. So, Michael and Dean were just there to make Harry notice her? How nice. She never really cared about them, that’s why she could easily dump them without actually feeling anything over rather trivial things. Of course it’s her doing the dumping, after all Ginny is so perfect, why would anyone leave her?

She said that she 'never really gave up on Harry. Big difference there.

The way I saw it, Ginny still liked Harry, but knew that she couldn't have him (until she does, of course). Ginny dated other boyfriends, not because she wanted to get Harry to notice her (he didn't even know about Michael until late into the relationship), but because she wanted to forget (to an extent) about her feelings for Harry. She (probably) didn't dump them for trivial reasons, although it seems like it because she (or Hermione, anyway. I think that that's how the boys gets the news of the break-ups) described the reasons very dismissevely (sp.?). For example, when Ginny broke up with dean, all she said when Harry passed her in the portrait hole was, in a slightly annoyed manner, 'Dean, you don't have to push me, I can get through by myself'. The matter could have easily blown up into a shouting match, and the reason for the break up wouldn't have been just because Ginny thought Dean had pushed her. And remember that Harry was under Felix's luck, so pretty much everything he did was going to turn out in his favour. And how do you know that she wasn't feeling anything over breaking up with them? It isn't in the books anywhere what she felt. Also, Dean wasn't dumped, it was an even split. Michael probably deserved it. Your argument is totally biased 'cause you've decided to hate her.

Oh, btw, by that logic, Hermione is also a User/Slut 'cause she used McLaggen to get back at Ron.

Exactly.

And, she was nice to Neville...Did she go to the ball with him?

She was nice to her Pygmy Puff, too. That didn't get her anywhere...

If she never gave up on him, she must have had some kind of faith she'd be with him.

How do you know they had just broken up? They could have broken up right after that incident. Ginny was just being her rude self, and the reason there wasn't a shouting match was because Dean didn't retort back to allow things to escalate.

Yes, Ginny's rudeness was working in his favor.

Harry would be watching her in the hallways and stuff when Ginny's not looking, like anybody else with a crush. If she was upset, Harry would have noticed.

Really? Maybe my HBP memory is rusted...don't have the book with me. Could have sworn it said she dumped them...

Maybe he did or maybe he didn't. Can't use him at all for arguing.

Yes, I'm a little biased. But so are you, so meh. And I didn't 'decide' to hate her, I tried to find the likable side in her reading HBP two years ago...couldn't find it.

That was back in book four when she was only mentioned in passing and before she had sudden instant popularity out of nowhere. (With no development whatsoever.)

And, back then, she couldn't get a date. She was probably too shy to ask any boys and boys probably didn't find her approachable then. Yes.

As much as I hate Ginny, I really can't see her as the type to abuse animals anyway.

First, yeah Snape deserves to die! He killed Dumbledore, and it is his fault that James and Lilly were Killed!! And i've kinda hated his guts for a while now, so...

And second, Ginny isn't that bad. She is a little stuck up sometimes, bbut I've liked her character for a while now, so I can't just flip. And she'll probably grow out of it . . . eventually.

She said that she only went with Neville because she didn't reckon she'd be asked by anyone else.

It's not like JK Rowling would turn even Ginny into an animal abuser....

Yes, both Hermione and Ron are users.

But the reason we like them is because they have redeeming sides. They selfless have helped Harry for six....almost seven years. They've faced evil bravely.

Hermione is always willing to help people with their school work, especially Neville. She also isn't a super instant popular girl and does something useful with her time, studying, instead of instantly being oh-so-gifted.

Ron, on the other hand, is determined to work with Quidditch, to become greater. And he's always been loyal to Harry and his family. He also is quite human.....and is mildly intelligent, not automatically perfectly gifted.

Neither is Ginny. Is she really that popular? Does she actually have any friends? Like, who are girls?

Well, maybe he and Dumbledore faked it. Don't ride with Harry, you know he jumps to fast conclusions. The only wizard Voldemort was afraid of can't be brought down by Snape, from a personality misjudgement.

I know there is a sentence in book six that outright said 'Ginny is also really popular' or some cabbage like that. (Haven't read the book in forever, otherwise I'd give you the exact quote and page number.)

harry says he thinks she's too popular for her own good.
that doesn't specify how popular she actually is.
we don't see her with friends that often.

But only because we see the story through Harry's eyes. And we don't see him with a lot of friends besides the Golden Trio, they pretty much stick together.

Has anyone seen the new trailer for the fifth movie? (Off topic I know, stay with me) in ever flooping 'ecking trailer there is a part where Hermione is hugging/touching Harry. It's like the trailer people and directors want Harry/Hermione.

Undoubtedly they do. Then they could pretend it's a classic movie and get lots of awards.

NOT THAT I'M POINTING ANY FINGERS! AT CERTAIN AUTHORS!
