Character change in the end, yes.

And he didn't lift a finger to save Nathaneil from the Golem.

False. Kitty states several times in book three that it was Bartimaeus who convinced her to save Nathaniel's life. Yes, I know he never SAID "Kitty you should save him" but his implications were that to just walk away would make her as bad as the magicians. You think that Bart, in all his cunning, didn't know what outcome his words would create?

And please don't trash me for posting on an old thread, i just got here. To open a new thread with the same subject would be stupid, huh?

wow adnil/linda thats a great thought...but..bart does seem more considerate and all than the other djinn etc but there doesnt seem to be hint of ptolemy in him..if ptolemy was there, his whole personality would change.he would be a mixture of himself and ptolemy, which hes not.hes plain irreplacable bartimaeus. and if becoming one was possible, then all the djinn would be 1!all of them are residents of the OP so according to your thought, they should ideally be 1.

but noneotherless thats a great idea!

Thinking about it noe way, Ptolemy is with Bart, if only in memory.
I think because of this memory, Bart looks at humanity with something like sadness, along with his ingrained Cynicism...
