"To [heck] with politics." "Oh, god." someone whispered, "it's a musical." " According to some, 2 Generally those who don't have to do it. Politicians and writers spring to mind. heroic deaths are admirable things. I've never been convinced by this argument, mainly because, however manly, or defi- ant you are, at the end of the day you're also dead. Which is a little too permanent for my liking." |

I don't know if you would classify this as a quote, but this was probably my favorite couple lines in the books: "...I wanted to wake you straightaway, but I knew I had to wait several hours to ensure you were safely recovered" "What! How long has it been?" "Five minutes, I got bored" |

This is one of Bart's mental footnotes toward the end- "Well, you try giving yourself a rude hand gesture. See, it just doesn't work does it?" Another- Bart(footnote)- "I first encountered Naeryan in Africa during the Scipio campaigns. Her favorite manifestation was as a lissom belly dancer, who would lure-" Nat: "Will you stop doing that? I'm trying to concentrate." |

I used that as an analogy when I was asked if I were dating my guy best friend. |

Funnily enough, the person who asked me thought I'd made it up myself. I corrected them, of course. So they read Bartimaeus. |
