Though I suppose Eragon's strong point isn't really plot, since so much is borrowed. I don't know what its strong point is though... It's fun to read! i guess. |

And there are thousands of other novels that are better than just fun to read. |

Gladstone/Sentynel/Krim/Gladstone/Sentynel/Krim/Stroud/Gladstone The three ships. Kinda like the Mayflower and all those. | |

Oliver Twist is one. I thought it'd be boring, but it's rather engaging... |

How can they get better than being fun to read? Books like Jane Eyre (a personal favorite) can be fun to read and deep. But, if a book isn't fun to read...Why would you read it? I mean, any book has a moral if you really hunt...Hard. |

Anyways, back on topic, I love the book Eragon, but the movie was awful. It was far too different than the book, and so much was missing, it just . . . * sigh * |

If a book is poorly written and has stolen a plot from almost every popular sci-fi/fantasy series on the planet, I'd say there is more to a book than "fun", yes. |

I remember a book set in the 1800s with dragons thrown in, Royal Dragoon cavalary they were. Oh and a sci fi. And have you read the thread? Defending Eragon is a mortal sin. |

*Snorts* Are you serious? I personally found Cornelia Funke's work more original and compelling. But then, I found Eragon as compelling as Moby Dick. |

Cornelia Funk bugs me. I disliked all of her books. I mean, could you honestly get more depressing? |

Yes, you could. Try Victor Hugo. And even so countless other books show more skill in one sentence that Paolini shows in a plot. |

Eragon's boderline Plagarism. Stop and repent now and you're soul can be saved. Maybe. |
