The Sphinx made me laugh. I totally didn't expect the end. |

I like Ted Hughes's stuff (studying it). Emily Dickinson is cool, especially 'I could not stop for death'. My fave has to be e.e. cummings. |

Meh. School makes me read sanitized stuff. Poe was a nice breath of fresh air. |

The texts I'm studying now are pretty perverse, but when I was younger everything was so tame. They keep all the violent and sexy stuff for A level. |

Meh..the worst we get is Lives of the Saints. Which has apparently has some incest in it, but that's it. |

Depends on how graphic the scene is...I admit to being scared by the cutting out a pound of flesh thing from Merchant of Venice before, but now it's nothing. |

You mean, you'd be cool with giving up a pound of your own flesh (or watching it happen to someone else)? Then again, that might have something to do with desensitization. I liked Robert Frost, too. He didn't drone on and on and his poems were actually still readable even now. Not like certain people who talk about twixts and oers. |

No, I meant the image of a pound of flesh won't be as disturbing to me now because I've seen worse ones, largely thanks to a period of volunteering at the vet's. I've watched the vet I was attached to remove a gigantic tumour from a tortoise. Am I desensitized to that kind of thing? Definitely. |

Ew. Some stupid songs about heroism and folk ballads. Little else. |

Robert Frost is the best. The DG ship is named Fire and Ice after his poem. And I liked the "Nothing Gold Can Stay" It was in The Outsiders as well. |
