lol Nero, grammar Nazi. I agree with Apollo's statement, if not his spelling.

Faquarl is stronger in terms of power and speed, but Barty has beaten him many times using logic and wit. |

When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney. Something symbolic in that. It's what fake freedom does for you. | |

I wouldn't say beaten him, but gotten away at least. I'm going for Faquarl too.

Yeah, we hardly have seen Barty beat anyone. Even Faquarl & Jabor died more because of their own mistakes. |

Bartimaeus beat Jabor, among others. |

Ah, but do you remember how Faquarl actually died? Even Bartimaeus thinks that he could have been faster, and wonders if what he said about abandoning the other place got through to Faquarl. Bartimaeus did beat Jabor, even though Jabor had more brute strength. If Jabor had been a little more quick-witted, he might not have died. |

Yes. Bartimaeus is able to beat those with more physical strength than himself through one way or another, be it wit or luck. I still say Bartimaeus can beat the Merc. |
