What, to believe every contradictory word of the bible? Allright then.

And really, why would the devil be so obvious to have 666 on his forehead? I'd think the guy would be a little more sneaky and subtle then that...

He is sneaky. He's the voice in your head that says, "C'mon, they wont know you took the candy bar, just slip it in your pocket."

Hodge is not one of the most intelligent people on the forum...I don't that attending church every Sunday makes you all that smart when it comes to being logical --- I'm not saying that he's stupid because he goes to church, I'm saying he's not smart just because he knows what his Bible says just like a major percent of America does.

I'm not putting down your belief because I'm not saying 'GOD IS A LIE, CLOSE THIS THREAD'. As a matter of fact, I'm agnostic, and I believe there is a possibility God exists --- I think there is a possibility every God exists. And so what if I'm discriminating against Christians? You calling Muhammed a liar is not justified just because I do the same wicked deed.

When a problem arises for the Bible, it doesn't have to change to accomodate it. It already has the proof.

...Which is completely irrelevant and simply boasting. Okay, here, where is the proof for this:

The Bible forbids masturbation because it spills the seed of your child, but sperm dies out after a few days and mingles with your piss. So if you don't have sex and impregnate your wife every few days, then you are killing your children.

Where is the Bible's change for that?

Even with the faults of carbon dating, the Earth is certainly more than ten thousand years old.

Where is the BIble's change for that?

And how are you going to call BUDDHA DELUSIONAL? ARE YOU INSANE? You're going to make me explode with your sheer close-minded idiocy. Wanna hear a funny secret? The Quran and the Bible and the teachings of Buddha, they all share remarkable similarities. Buddha doesn't tell much of a god other than the planets of heaven and hell, but rather the path of reaching the ultimate knowledge of nirvana or, if this is not accomplished, reincarnation for another chance. Be on the lookout for where it says that any Buddhist will be tortured for eternity for being homosexual or other things of the sort.

I'm really starting to dislike your smug, holier than thou attitude, Hodge.

Remain civil, SENTYNEL IS WATCHING THIS THREAD. (Right?)

Buddhism is more philosophy than religion.

A little more subtler than that Hodge. A little more abstract.

*gives an uncomfortable look*

Watch the flaming...

Well, I think the 'Bible is better' attitude does shows ignorance, there needs to be credible facts to prove it. And there isn't, and that's what makes it in the same league as the other religions. Believe what you want. Just don't put down other beliefs. That's all I'm saying.

I address every point, while most people skirt around answering only what they can delude themselves into believing will actually hold up in an argument.

I'm very lenient in my arguments, because if I see I'm wrong, I'll admit it, but in this case I haven't been proven wrong (nor have I been proven right, but I have an answer for everything, at least). I also debate the point I'm about to make with myself internally, to see if it is just nonsense or not.

:) Debating ftw.

Jeet, Krim, don't start a philisophical/religious flame warthing. Those never turn out well. You do have good points though.

The Bible is one of the oldest books on the entire planet. It's been translated thousands of times. Things have been intentionally and unintentionally changed in the translations. Thought I might throw that out there to chew on.

As for suffering eternally in Hell, God wouldn't do that. As for homosexuality, I don't believe that's a sin. I would type why, but if nobody's interested then I want to save the effort.

The Bhagad Geeta is older, many of the Greek ideas about god is older. The Bible is not the sole source of 'divine' messanges.

To your mordern views, it isn't a sin. But for millions of others it is. Now what is the will of god? Who knows. There is nothing tangible on divine intervention.
