I thought I would set up a thread where people could post pictures they have made of spirits/demons. Below is a picture i made on the computer, of a djinni moulding its essence into another form.

Lovely, a little fuzzy, but that's how it's supposed to be.

Good job!

Thanks!
Out of curiosity, how would you picture it?

That made with a fractal generator by any chance?

That's cool...

I pictured it as more of a swirl of darker colours. (The background would be white.)

Welcome back Sentynel,
yeah, its a free art program called Apophysis. You use a gradient to get the colours, after that you need to specify x,y and z axis so you can produce a graphic.

Luciene, I kind of pictured it like that at first, and I think some of Strouds darker spirits may have assumed their forms like that...this one was a lighter spirit though, so it whilst it is a dark and brooding, it is not entirely malicious, I have tried to use colours to represent personality.

Here is another image, i imagine this one to be an afrit of moderate power. I created it with a bird manifestation in mind...

It reminds me of some kind of feathery bug thing. Do you think the shape of their essence has anything to do with their preffered form?

And where do you get the program? I want to try it, 'cause so far, the only x/y axis pics I make are on graphing calculators. (I made a cat)

Apophysis does seem to be the most commonly used fractal generator. I use it.
Download it here.

I have a question...

What exactly is a fractal generator? And how long does it take you to make an average pic?
And can you make testures and bases with it?

A fractal is a graph based on quantum physics. It echoes the real world in that although each dot on the graph is placed randomly under a certain set of conditions, they add up to a regular pattern.
A fractal generator is simply a program that allows you to create fractals.

Time depends on quite a lot - in the default mode, Apophysis provides 50 randomly generated fractals, which can then be altered. Alternatively, you can start from scratch, choosing all the details of the graph yourself. Picking a randomly generated image out of the 50 might take a few minutes, then a few minutes more to alter it, then a few more minutes (depending on size and quality) for it to calculate the final render. Starting from scratch, depending on how much practice you've had and whether you've got something specific in mind, could take anywhere from two minutes to an hour.

That sounds ok. I'm just gonna make bases or backgrounds with it. And I usually have something specific in mind.

Have a go.
Learning what the different graph settings do can be quite confusing, though.
