You know the Kookaburra, an Australian bird? Its call sounds like laughing.
This one laughs cynically.

Get it?

Really? They just sit there to me.
But then again I only care about marsupials in Australia, so what do I know?

You've never heard a kookaburra laugh? You're deprived. Google for 'kookaburra laugh' or something similar.

Well, no. Somehow the documentaries on Discovery never really show it, and if there were any kookaburras in Australia when I visited I wasn't there to hear it laugh, seeing as I was very, very sick.

The only time I've been to Australia was when I was three, and so I remember none of it.
I've heard a kookaburra laughing in a zoo, though.

I've never seen one, but I like the song about the kookaburra on the gum tree or something like that.
