Because of the ending, I give it a 10, even though I didn't want Nat to die. I would like to say more, but I can't think of anything else (oh, and the fact that this is a dead topic too, so maybe I shouldn't be here)

10 for 10, Stroud. The apex of fantasy writing. And I'm NOT exaggerating.

It was amazing. It even made me cry in the end, but that's why it's so good.

Best-flushed out, great ending, great sense of tension throughout, and masterful handling of Makepeace.

Ten fo sho!! It seems like I'm the only one who liked that Nat died. He was a jerk in the second book. But the fact that he died and sacrificed his life in the end and even released Bartimaeus instead of taking Bart with him was selfless!! So Therefore I like Nat now, for he is a true hero in giving up his life for the good of the good.
