unless it wasn't Nathaniel who summoned him but someone else - so Nathaniel was out of the trilogy but Bartimaeus was still in. I guessed that Nathaniel would summon him again though |

I didn't think Nat was going to summon him again. Originally, I thought in the next book, Nathaniel would be a master, and his apprentice would summon him. The resistance would be starting to get somewhere, and the 'girl' (I didn't know her name was Kitty at the time) and Nathaniel would fight each other for a while and then everyone would then have to decide where their loyalties lie. And Bartimaeus, of course, would have to be stuck in the middle. But like I said, that was just a prediction I had before I heard anything about the Golem's Eye. (And boy I was wrong.) |

I thought that Bartimeaus was going to have a new master since Nat didnt seem stupid to summon a demon that new his birth name, I thought that barty was going to be summoned by a magician in prague or somewhere. |

I think all three, Bartimaeus, Nat, and Kitty, were the main characters. All of them were important, and without one of the other, we wouldn't have the series. So to answer you question, yes, I did expect Nat to summon Bartimaeus again. Not to mention it was in the summary.
