lol.
Ahh lol.
What everyone says to say it, or when they have nothing to say...
You think resielence could build up enough to give the commoners powers?
As in detonations and the lot.

No. I think resilience is a kind of anti-magic. It only involves seeing essence/auras and protection from magical attacks, so if human could make detonations they would have to be part essence like the djinn and therefore vulnerable to silver/iron. Besides, if essence explains the Resistance's powers, the djinn would be able to hurt them fine, as they hurt each other.

On to my strange thought: when spirits do magic, they are making an attack out of essence, so that explains their getting tired. A detonation, for example, would be an explosive (don't ask me how ;)) shard of essence that is expelled from the being. This would explain why smaller entities can't make detonations, because if they do, they will not have enough essence left to retain a stable form and will start to decompose as poor Barti did in PG. The shard of essence, after exploding and causing whatever damage it caused, returns to the other place, where it is then "healed" back onto the djinni who fired it.

Ask Stroud. It's a good thought. The only question is, is it true? :D

That makes perfect sense.
I totally agree...
I'm just angry that I didn't think of that...
Hmph.
Great idea, Ben.

I have something to add, though.
I think all entities have limited healing in-world, else they would tire wuickly, even if things they cast take less energy thatn we think.
I think that if they simply sit there for awhile, they can recover there energy just like us.
The OP simple does it better.

Yeah, the spent magic sort of drifts around on the wind until it finds a spirit to graft itself onto.

Thanks for all the comments, I'll ask him myself in a bit.

I think they get the energy while resting, but not that essence they lost.

Well it's just a small amount of essence.
And why not?
If they're a creature of of essence, they must gain new essence to heal their wounds, just as we get new tissue.

So their essence grows? Weird!

No! I mean, seriously how can essence grow? I actually agree with your previous statement. Rest just heals their essence. Well mightbe replenishes it. It does'nt grow. Oh no, I know I am contradicting myself.
