Nouda. Ramuthra is strong but...
'"That's right," I said "Me. What, did you think that I'd be all nice and quiet for you? Think again, sonny. There are two of us in this body now. Check this out."
To prove my point I lifted one of his fingers and methodically picked his nose. He uttered a squawk of protest. "Stop that!"'
I lowered the arm. "That's not all I can do if I put your mind to it"'

Spoilers for the babies who haven't read book 3 yet:

Ramuthra would apparently win. Anyway, why does it matter? The matchup is impossible so comparing two things when you know about 1/20th of their power is asinine. We know barely nothing of Nouda and we know Ramuthra can warp the fabric of reality. Under the circumstances you'd say Ramuthra because the rift would most likely just absorb Nouda, but the rift was not Ramuthra's power as much as it was just the portal it came through. Nouda was also incredibly powerful and survived a full-on assault from the Staff(at least the controllable part of it), and on the other hand Ramuthra would have just diverted it.

I'd say Ramuthra because

a.) Nouda wouldn't be able to touch it with magic, for the spirit bent reality and all attacks disappeared.

b.) It couldn't get close enough for a melee assault without being considerably altered.

It seems to me, that Nouda has all the points of Marid rather than sspirit

But Bartimaeus does say that Nouda is a higher spirit.

As far as I could tell (but we don't know nearly enough about either's powers) Nouda is an extremely strong version of a standard spirit, but Ramuthra works in an entirely different way, warping the fabric of reality and magic, which would apparently mean that Ramuthra would be able to withstand any attacks Nouda could make.

I dont think that the rift would greatly affect a being of Nouda's power

I think it depends on whether Nouda has the strength to hold himself in shape and attack when he's affected by Ramuthra's warping of reality - in other words, because Ramuthra works in a totally different way to Nouda, Nouda would have to be stronger than Ramuthra to be able to affect her and hold himself together at the same time.

It's a hypothetical situation that is impossible to take place. We don't even know how powerful he really is, all they say is that they are nothing compared to him. Still, if you bend reality, I don't think it matters how powerful you are. I'm sticking with Ramuthra.

It is possible. (well, spoiler: not now Nouda's dead, but it would have been before)

Besides, talking about possibility when you're discussing a work of fiction strikes me as a little pointless. :P

Welcome to the forums, Bartimaeus!

Yes, nobody directly in the books summons a marid, but they summon higher spirits, and talk about people who have summoned marids.

Wht abt Jabor? Was he not a spirit of higher value? Would he be a challenge of power for evn Lord Nouda? Or will Lord Nouda just give a mirthless laugh when he sees Jabor. I personally found Jabor a more formidable opponent thn Farqual but... SPOILER: As we see Lord Nouda killed Nathaniel (sigh, it still hurts) but Jabor did not but still....
