I actually thought Ramuthra would be more powerful than Nouda - remember that it took four magicians to summon it, SPOILER: one of which was the one who summoned Nouda.

A character in the third book is mentioned as having summoned a marid (Mr. Button - that's how he lost his leg), but it's not particularly important to the plot.

I think Ramuthra is more powerful. Her special powers are warping magic not pure unstoppable power like Nouda's. If they went head to head, I would think that Ramuthra would win. Remember, Nouda only took one magician to summon it when four were needed to summon Ramuthra. :phrank:

SPOILER: But also remember that it was in Nouda's interest to come, because it meant he got to be evil and take over the world and eat people.

Barti guessed that it was the first time Ramuthra had been summoned.

Mr Penny Feather said his arm got cut off or whatever by a Marid he was questioning. He summoned that one alone.....

You're thinking about Mr Button from Book 3, who got his leg blown off by a marid he summoned because he forgot one simple clause. ;)

But what demon could get close to Ramuthra without being destroyed? She herself is like the Amulet of Samarkand. She drains other spirits of their powers+warps the borders of magic.

another spirit of the same kind, though I would NOT like to be anywhere close when those two face off!
'"That's right," I said "Me. What, did you think that I'd be all nice and quiet for you? Think again, sonny. There are two of us in this body now. Check this out."
To prove my point I lifted one of his fingers and methodically picked his nose. He uttered a squawk of protest. "Stop that!"'
I lowered the arm. "That's not all I can do if I put your mind to it"'

Unless with the spirit in a human body it's essence was safe from Ramuthra's effects

Even humans are affected. Remember that in the first book some human's appearances and genders were altered. That showed how powerful Ramuthra really is. Even the afrits haven't got a chance against her.
