But does that mean he can absorb the power of higher demons whose powers are not neligable yet not gr8er than his?

I did mention demons of lesser power.

Ugh.
Bart, or any spirit for that matter, can absorb any spirit, so long as they don't fight.
He could take an unconsious(sp) Afrit, roll it up into a ball, and eat it,
(I use eat in the loosest possible sense here.)
So long as it doesn't wake up and fight it's way out.

True. It would be kind of like in GE when they found him lying in the coffin...

That could have worked.

He more actually killed it.
Pity he couldn't do it again.

If a spirit were to absorb the energy of a higher entity, wouldn't it become as powerful as the spirit it swallowed? For example, if an imp swallowed an unconcious afrit, and succeeded in absorbing its essence, would it then become an afrit, because it absorbed all the power af one?

However, even though Barti states in a footnote somewhere in the first book that there is no way to change your status of spirit, could it just be that he has never seen this occur? I mean, if someone had said to him that you could be encased in a human's body in the first book, he would write it off as impossible, no?

For the imp thing, I think it would explode with the large force.
Meh, and as for the last paragraph, I don't think it's possible, but my fanfic says it's possible with a hint of death in the risk.
But it might happen, yes. Not sure how though.

I gave thought to something like that happening, but I'm fairly sure the essences would merge easily, as I've always thought essence to be a very liquid like substance, as Barti said dishwater-couloured smokey-watery form that he was in after being captured at Pinn's was as close to pure essence as he could get. Or something. But I 'spose the sheer difference between the amount and power between the imp and the afrit could cause the afrit's essense to overpower the imps part... But instead of the imp exploding with the power, I see the afrit absorbing the imp's power.

Hmm...I wonder what happens when two demons in their closest form to their essence (i.e. that dirty looking water) were mixed together in a blender?
:P
But seriously, mix them and you get...
?

I 'spose the pain would wake them up seconds after the blending started and they would change into other, bigger forms to escape.

I dunno. If they stayed in there to see the result... Wouldn't they just be slaughtered?
