Point 2.1: I think summoning horns work like this; Makepeace, Schlycher, Lime and Lovelace all do a "summons" on Ramuthra, but do not actually bring it to Earth, all the word bonds are in place, waiting to bring Ramuthra out of the Other Place.

Then, Lovelace blows the summoning horn, and the summons takes effect immediately because all the words are in place, but the summoning horn just takes the final "step" to the summons a whole lot quicker.

How is it possible that Lovelace could do a summons? We saw him and he was waaay too busy. And Schlyer was dead.

Though if you mean they did it earlier in the day and waited then that would make sense. But I'm not sure they could do that, it sounds like a good question to Ask the Author.

I'm pretty sure that's what a summoning horn does - Barti says they'd have needed four magicians to summon Ramuthra, and they definitely had the four required present, so it makes sense that they summoned Ramuthra to the summoning horn, as it were, so Lovelace could then summon Ramuthra just by blowing it.

That makes sense.

Because, after all, wasn't Makepeace already gone from the Hall?

Yes. They saw him leaving as they came in.

That's right.

I haven't read AoS for a while, my best friend has my copy. And he better give it back.

OR The Horn Provides the Power to get Ramu in, and then magicians are needed to maintain control and give it orders.

But the other magicians were already gone when Ramuthra was summoned...

Perhaps it was simply a precaution since they didn't know how much it would take to command something this powerful...

Phinedas summoned Atlas to constcuct the Pantheron. Harold BUtton summoned a marid alone that took his leg. Quentin Makepecae summoned Nouda alone. So powerful magicians might be able to summon even the most powerful marids alone.

A question to ask the Author, perhaps?

Very likely, though its probable something in this vein has already been asked.

I still stick with my thing- they were there for precaution since nothing this powerful had been brought into [sic] world in hundreds of years.

Only by will, and by words, did Makepeace summon Nouda. It should be noted that nouda was able to easily take control.
