Does anybody think there's some sort of Spirit Ball- style big attack?
Or maybe a suicide.
Read about Asmoral the Resolute.
It gave me the idea.

CLearly you didn't go read it.
To summarize it (and because I can't remember it exactly) Asmoral was directed to attack his great love, Ianna (i think that's her name).
He refused, and the combined power of his will (holding him there) and the Magicians command (making him go) tore him apart, wiping out a 'burb of Bagdad.
Causes aside, do you think a Spirit would willingly do that? Just to kill as many as possible?

Erm, if the spirit has been in existence for a bit, yes, they will try to kill as many as possible.
And in war too.
But all in all, not many would actually go suicidal.

I always taught a spirits biggest ambition is to kill as many humans as possible.
